The Platform
Data Driven for Future Enterprise Value
The Fusion Backend
A Web 3.0 gaming platform; making it easier for gaming studios and publishers to rapidly test, build, deploy, and scale tokenization in mobile games. The Fusion Gaming Platform was launched in July 2023 and was initially designed to support the needs of YayPal's in-house transition to Web3.0 games during the design phase of Dual Play Mode games and in particular, YayPal’s own game, Walkopoly.
At that time, no platforms on the market in the Open Source space could consolidate and address the increasing OPEX costs of integrating backend management systems required to run blockchain Web 3.0 games and token rewards coupled with a typical gaming engine such as Unity or Unreal. The platform helps manage and monetize the following aspects for our gaming ecosystem:
Features of the platform
Player accomplishment framework
This framework makes it possible to infuse excitement and competition into your projects. It offers a wide array of gamification features to attract gamers to the game, encourage and reward them whilst playing and keep them interested and engaged in continuing to play.
Points, Badges and Leaderboard (PBL).
This is managed and run by a realtime Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ) engine that converts points into virtual tokens off-chain, in preparation for redemption on-chain.
Motivation Engine
A thorough analysis of player attributes and data empowers the Fusion platform to suggest player specific alignments.
Achievement Management Engine - Achievements
YayPal supports and manages several types of achievements that are used to motivate player retention.
Blockchain transaction management
Our platform excels in blockchain transaction management, offering a centralized hub to oversee and optimize the blockchain transactions. These APIs ensure seamless, secure, and efficient transaction processing.
Fusion non-custodial wallets
These wallets are provided and equipped by specialized APIs that integrate securely with your current workflows, thus enhancing the Web 3.0 gamer user experience. These APIs enable advanced functionality such as:loyalty programsspecial power-up offersbonus points that facilitate upselling accross studio and publisher portfolios, addition of levels and rewards that increase stickiness and extend the key KPI, Average game time per player (AGTPP).
Using these tools, studios and publishers will be able to create immersive campaigns that keep the players in the game for as long as possible. The Fusion platform employs intelligent decision-making to determine the most appropriate times to utilize blockchain technology, guaranteeing swift and cost-efficient interactions. We enhance the efficiency and reduce costs in every transaction.
Asset management system
The Fusion platform effortlessly manages and tracks your digital assets with our Asset management system. This simplifies the task of monitoring how assets perform and helps you make informed decisions.
Game & wallet analytics (off-chain/on-chain)
This provides valuable insights into end-user behavior and wallet performance, facilitating data-driven decisions for your gaming projects both on- and off-chain.
Treasury management system
This is a licensed third-party component tightly integrated into the Fusion platform and which has been optimized and scaled for Web 3.0 game studios. It is a Crypto back-office solution allowing the management of tokens over the life cycle of both the games and the token project. It is ideal for the phases after the Initial DEX offering (IDO) and the ICO. Tokens aligned with management for web optimize treasury functions when using this management system and it offers a comprehensive suite of tools to manage your digital, in-game assets efficiently.
Web 3.0 Compliance
Fusion helps you to stay at the forefront of Web 3.0 compliance. It ensures that the applications and smart contracts adhere to the latest industry standards and protocols at the lowest cost per player verification. Parts of this SDK are expected to be published as an Open Source project, which will solve an industry-wide problem.
The Fusion platform enables easy interaction with the platform’s API products for use with various programming languages and game engines. One of the main features is the agnostic approach of our blockchain and backend features. This gives developers complete freedom to select their preferred blockchain and backend provider solution. NOTE; In case partners, i.e., games studios and publishers, haven't considered a backend provider, YayPal will offer a Developer Mode Sandbox that enables all our SDK features from within the Unity or Unreal editor without needing a backend. This option is great for experimentation and prototyping and allows for faster iterations. The backend provider can be added or changed at any time!
Player Accomplishment Framework
Data driven player engagement and success
This is the cornerstone of YayPal's gaming ecosystem, serving as the dynamic force and the recognizable point of reference that drives player engagement and success. It unites several integral components of the Fusion platform, including rewards, points, leaderboards, a motivation engine and achievement management. Achievements typically lead to the allocation of rewards. Rewards can also come in the form of content that is generated or acquired through other means, such as purchase.Rewards could be:
The badge - is the achievement itself.
Something useful in the app or game itself, such as an XP boost, currency, avatars, items, etc.
An IRL discount at a shop
The sections below describe in more detail how each facet of the framework contributes to gamifying the world of YayPal and Web 3.0 game developers and publishers.
The Motivation Engine
Through the integration of cutting-edge machine learning algorithms, we are revolutionizing how players interact with our ecosystem in a healthy way. In the dynamic landscape of gaming, the power of Machine Learning (ML) has emerged as a transformative force, allowing a new era of personalized, engaging, and health-conscious gaming experiences to be ushered in. The Fusion gaming platform is not just about an active lifestyle, but also about harnessing the potential of individuality. At the heart of this innovation lies our profound understanding of each player, garnered through a comprehensive analysis of their profile attributes. By synthesizing data on player preferences, activity levels, personal goals, achievements and gaming history, the analysis systems provide a deep and nuanced understanding of each player's unique journey. This granular insight empowers the platform to suggest the best-suited games, optimal ways of gaming, and personalized gaming styles that align with the player's lifestyle. To create a comprehensive and personalized gaming experience, a rich set of player profile attributes, along with insights into how they interact with the games are used. Machine learning is employed to analyze these parameters and derive predictive analytics that lead to meaningful, individualized suggestions for players. Here are some key parameters and their role in this process:
Player activity levels: Monitoring how frequently and for how long a player engages with the game provides insights into their activity levels.
Personal goals: Understanding a player's personal objectives, whether it's weight loss, cardiovascular health or general well-being, enables our system to recommend games and styles of play that support these goals.
Game genre preferences: Analyzing a player's history of choice and type of games they enjoy provides data to suggest new games or game modes that align with their preferences.
Achievement history: The player's past achievements and performance help the system recommend new challenges and goals that are achievable yet rewarding. The Fusion Shared Achievements (see the explanation below) can help create incentives to swap between games.
Social interaction: If a player enjoys gaming with friends or participating in community events, the system uses these insights to suggest multiplayer games, leaderboards, or cooperative missions or perhaps to play single-player games for a change.
Biometric data: If available, biometric data such as heart rate, calories burned, and step count from wearable devices can be integrated. Our ML model uses this data to offer real-time game adjustments.
With an ML model that is fed with the parameters and outcomes mentioned, it is possible to employ predictive analytics to make tailored game suggestions. By leveraging historical data from similar players and correlating it with the individual's profile, the system grows increasingly adept at offering game recommendations that are not only enjoyable but also contribute to the player's lifestyle goals. This approach transforms gaming from a one-size-fits-all experience into a personalized journey that players genuinely find impactful and motivating.
Achievement Management Engine
Promoting sustainable user engagement through achievements that span across and affect multiple games. Ever since early computer games, such as the Dragster Game, released in 1980, most games retained players by adding achievements to create an incentive to keep playing even after beating the game several times. While achievements certainly add to the longevity of a game, end-users eventually tire of them and start to search for inspiration elsewhere. As YayPal apps are designed to promote an active lifestyle and improve health and well-being, we really want to encourage end-users to continue using the apps in a way that contributes to benefit their overall well-being. NOTE: This engine is currently a roadmap feature planned for vers. 1.0.2 of Fusion.Achievement categoriesAchievements are goals that aim to motivate retention. YayPal aims to support different types of achievements hosted primarily, but not necessarily, in the YayPal backend. For example: App private achievements, App collective achievements and Fusion-shared achievements. Achievements can be simply for the feeling of accomplishment, called pure, or they can generate rewards.
App-private achievements
This is the classic achievement, private to the app itself, although perhaps visible in Game services such as iOS Game Center, Google Play etc. YayPal backend is normally not involved with these.
Example 1:
Playing the Push Play game 10 days in a row.
Example 2:
Running 100 miles in the Yay Ride game.
App-collective achievements
These achievements can be fulfilled by reaching goals that are collective for multiple apps.
Example 1:
Starting any combination of apps from the same game studio 30 days in a row.
Example 2:
Reaching Expert level in three different apps from the same game studio.
Fusion-shared achievements
This is the core USP of YayPal Fusion. Shared achievements aim to further extend end-user retention by allowing end-users to transfer their achievements to other apps. This requires that app creators allow achievements created in other apps to be utilized in their own apps. Shared achievements could be: Something useful in another, and preferably related, specific YayPal connected app. Example: a score of 100 in Push Play gives a x2 score boost in Push Play. Something potentially useful to all other YayPal apps that are exposed to the YayPal API.
Achievement types
If YayPal as an ecosystem provides different types of achievements,.
Loop/Chain achievements: The possibilities for shared achievements are endless. A shared achievement can exclusively unlock the possibility for achievements that, in turn, unlocks other achievements in the original app, called Loop achievements (A -> B -> A). If an unlocked achievement unlocks other achievements in a third app, it's called a Chain achievement (A -> B -> C).
Funnel achievements: When a specific achievement in App A and another specific achievement in App B are reached, it unlocks an achievement/reward in App C (A + B -> C).
Ripple achievements: A completed achievement in App A updates or upgrades an achievement in App B (A -> B'). In effect, it changes what the achievement in app B is about.
Content (non-achievements)
The Fusion framework will also be used to unlock app content through buying YayPal NFTs or buying unlocked rewards inside apps.
Example 1: Buying the Ultra Rainbow in YayPal store colours one level in rainbow colours in Active Crush and one street in Yay Ride.
Example 2: Buying the Slim Shady character in Yay Ride unlocks the Shade mode in Walkopoly.
Example 3: Buying the Jingle Bell song in the YayPal asset store makes it possible to hear a version of Jingle Bells in the background in some games and plays Christmas bell sound effects when strolling down the esplanade in Walkopoly.
